My firm had worked on the case pro bono since the NJ Supreme Court level at least. Well, about a week after I started there the NJ Supreme Court victory came through, and then the BSA appealed the US Supreme Court. It was pretty much all I worked on for a good 3 months. My firm didn't do the SC arguments, but did do most of the brief writing/amicus curiae gathering and so on. The man who argued it was Evan Wolfson, who was an attorney with Lambda Legal Defense. So I got to work on all the briefing, mock oral arguments, etc and was fortunate enough to go down to DC to listen to the oral arguments. By far, seriously by *far* the highlight of my legal career. And it happened before I even went to law school. I can tell you that Dale was very good looking, and quite charming. I shared a cab home with him after some award dinner thing.
